How to switch from CloudSpot to Chromafolio
CloudSpot → Chromafolio is a clean migration for galleries, watermarking, and proofing settings. AI tags don't migrate (they're CloudSpot-proprietary), but galleries themselves transfer cleanly.

Step-by-step migration
- 1
1. Export your CloudSpot galleries
From CloudSpot, open Account → Galleries → Bulk Export. Choose ZIP-per-gallery. Large accounts may receive an emailed download link when the archive is ready.
- 2
2. Create your Chromafolio account
Sign up free — no credit card. Configure your studio name, logo, and brand palette. Five minutes total.
- 3
3. Upload galleries in batches
Drag each CloudSpot ZIP into a matching Chromafolio album. Filenames are preserved so any printed gallery cards or external references still resolve.
- 4
4. Re-apply watermark + download rules
Copy your CloudSpot watermark template into Chromafolio. Configure PIN-protected downloads if you used them; favorite/proofing modes are on by default.
- 5
5. Redirect your custom domain
Point your DNS CNAME from CloudSpot to Chromafolio. We help configure redirects per-gallery so existing client links keep resolving.
- 6
6. Decide on AI-search replacement
If you relied on CloudSpot's facial recognition for events, keep CloudSpot running for active events or organize new Chromafolio galleries by group/section. Most non-volume photographers don't notice the difference.
Things to watch out for
- · Facial-recognition tags don't migrate — if your clients used CloudSpot's 'find me' search heavily, set expectations before switching.
- · CloudSpot's volume-pricing discounts for school/sports photography may make it a better fit if your business is 80%+ volume shooting. Re-run the math at your actual gallery counts.
- · CloudSpot's print integration is mature; plan to bridge with a direct lab relationship until Chromafolio's print store ships in 2026.
